Carl Stefano Obituary

1944-2016 Carl Stefano, 72, of Glenolden, PA passed away on December 6, 2016. Carl was born in Atessa, Italy on September 14, 1944. He moved to Philadelphia, PA at the age of 15 with his parents and two brothers. He continued on to receive an Associate's Degree in Computer Science from Temple University while raising his young family. He was a retired Software Engineer formerly employed by PNC Bank. Carl loved singing and was a member of the Coro Gabriele D’Annunzio. Soccer was his passion, but he was also a member of the Health Plex in Springfield and the Idle Hour Tennis club where he enjoyed playing tennis a few days a week. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving in the United States Army as part of the military band. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Filippo Stefano and Annamaria Rossi Stefano. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Catherine M. (Manton) Stefano and three daughters: Carla (Dan) McCourt, AnnaMarie (Gregory) Elenback and Catherine (Christian Hochstuhl) Stefano; two brothers: Michael (Rickie) Stefano and Domenic (Maria) Stefano; and his beloved grandchildren: Nate, Daniela, Gavin, Victoria, Genevieve and Chance. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM this Saturday, December 10, at St George's Church on Lamont Ave in Glenolden, PA. Friends may call Saturday from 10-11:00 AM at the church prior to mass. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
