Carlotta Gillespie

Carlotta Marie Gillespie, 85 of Ridley Twp, Folsom, PA, died Monday August 14, 2017 in her home surrounded by her family. Born in Princess Anne, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and the late Ella (Muir) Hickmon. She attended High School in Salisbury, MD. She lived in Folsom for the past 50 years coming from SW Philadelphia. She was a Crossing Guard, employed by Ridley Township Police, but most important she was a devoted and loving wife, mom, grandmom and great grandmom. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church, Milmont Park, PA. Along with her late husband Ed, Carlotta was active in numerous veteran’s organizations including attending Big Red 1 Reunions. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion William P. Roche Post 21 and the VFW Norwood Post 7213 where she held many positions. First she was a Baltimore Orioles fan, but then became a fan of the Philadelphia sports teams. Carlotta enjoyed spending time at her home in Rio Grande, NJ Pre-Deceased by her husband Edward L. Gillespie. Her siblings Mary Ruth Waller, Edward and Robert Hickmon Survived by five sons: Edward M. Gillespie of Folsom, PA, David J. (Pam) Gillespie of Havertown, PA, Timothy P. (Katie) Gillespie of Cary, NC, Stephen W Gillespie of Folsom, PA and Charles D. (Dawn) Gillespie of Woodlyn, PA, 5 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Funeral Mass Friday 10am Our Lady Of Peace Church, Milmont Ave, Milmont Park. Friends may call Thursday 7-9 pm and Friday 8:30-9:15am at Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service 202 S.
