David Easterday

David G. Easterday, 85 of Rose Tree Place, Media, PA, died Thursday May 12, 2016 in his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John W and the late Clara (Reigel) Easterday. David was raised and lived in Philadelphia until he moved to Delaware County in 2002 He served during Korean war in the US Navy. He served on the USS O'Hare from 1951-1955 and was honored with the Defense Service Ribbon and the Navy Occupation Medal (E). He was a Fire Fighter, employed by Philadelphia Fire Dept for 36 years. David enjoyed fishing and leisurely drives. He was a member of St. James Church of Kingsessing Predeceased by his wife Ruth H. Easterday, and his siblings John Easterday and Clara Geist Survived by one daughter: Ruth (Joseph) Di Dato and two sons: David J. (Alice) Easterday, Michael G Easterday 4 Grandchildren: Angela ( Matthew Dysart) DiDato , Stephen DiDato , Alicia Easterday and Eric Easterday 1 great grandson Connor Dysart Funeral service will be held Wednesday May 18,2016,11am at Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service, 202 S. Chester Pk, Glenolden Visitation: Wednesday 10-11 am at Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service Interment : Fernwood Cemetery, Fernwood.
