Delmont (Del) R. Beuttel, 94 of Ridley Twp, Morton, PA, passed away on April 1, 2016 in the Crozer Keystone Hospice in Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park, PA.. Born September 21, 1921 in Hudson, Kansas he was the son of the late Fred and the late Johanna (Onchen) Beuttel. Mr. Beutell was a resident of Delaware County since 1960. He served in the US Navy as Chief Hospital Corpsman from 1939 to 1959. Included among the many ribbons and medals earned was the Navy Commendation Medal with the combat "V" awarded for service during the Korean War. Mr. Beuttel was also assigned to the US Marine Corps as a member of the team testing the atom bomb in the 1950's. Following his retirement from the US Navy, he was employed by Sears, Roebuck in its South Philadelphia store. He retired from Sears in 1976. Mr. Beuttel was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church; a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Secretary emeritus of the George L. Carlin Branch One, Inc; a life member of the VFW and the DAV; a member of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Golden Age and Our Lady's Senior Clubs; and the De La Salle Council #590 Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Delaware County Council of Organization of Senior Citizens and a volunteer at the USO at the Philadelphia National Airport, the Military Retired Office at the Philadelphia Naval Base, and the Hospital Consumers Care Retirees Club. Del was predeceased by his wife Margaret "Peg" ( nee Johnston) and his son Richard. Survived by three daughters: Bernadette Clark of Milton, PA, Theresa Hammond of West Chester, PA., Mary Margaret " Maggi" Coates of Morton, PA Two Granddaughters, Amy Keefer and Deana Bauschpies , two grandsons Kyle and Keith Coates and 6 great grandchildren, Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Amosland Road, Morton. Friends may call Tuesday from 9-10 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Burial in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
