Doris Mae Johnston, (nee Barnett) 90 of Largo, FL, died Tuesday July 19, 2016 in her home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Mary A. (Lyons) Barnett. Doris was a service manager, employed by Bell Telephone of PA and later Verizon. She previously lived in Marlton, NJ and Springfield, PA before moving to Largo in 1998. Doris was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Member of ST Matthews Roman Catholic Church in Largo, Fl. She previously was active in Ranchero Village woman’s club in Largo. Doris provided volunteer services for over 25 years at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. She continued volunteering when she moved to Florida at the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater then at Bardmor Imaging Center in Largo. After moving to Florida she became number 1 fan of the Tampa Bay Rays. Predeceased by her loving husband Elwood “Woody” Johnston. Her brother John ”Jack” Barnett. Survived by her children: Linda M. (Ronald Casella) Glod of Largo, FL and Stephen (Lissa) Johnston of Leesville, SC; grandchildren, Laura (Jeremy) Gray of St. Petersburg, FL; Laurel (Cooper) Appelt of Los Angeles, CA; and Riley Johnston of Charleston, SC. Funeral Mass Tuesday 11:00 am at The Catholic Church of St. Mary, 2001 Springdale Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ. Friends may call Tuesday from 10-11:00 AM at The Catholic Church of St. Mary, 2001 Springdale Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ. Interment will be Wednesday 10am in Holy Cross, Yeadon.
