From there he became active with the Pennsylvania State Lodge of the Fraternal Order Of Police and in 1978 he was elected Vice President of the Pennsylvania State Lodge and served as Legislative Chairman. In 1982 he had the honor and privilege of being elected to President of the Pennsylvania State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police, a position he held for 16 years. During his tenure his main goal was to improve the quality of life for his brothers and sisters in blue and their families.
