Francis “Duane” Carney, 84, died Sunday February 18,2018 peacefully at his home in Lincoln, DE. Duane was born July, 3 1933 in Belle Vernon, Pa to Frank and Dorothy (née Ferguson) Carney. In 1953 he graduated from Euclid Senior Highs School in Euclid, OH, while serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954, when he was honorably discharged. Duane worked for General Electric in Folcroft and Great Valley, Pa for 39 years. He was was an avid reader, loved music, and U.S. Air Force Memorabilia. Duane is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Carney, beloved dog, Cassie, 5 children; Kevin (Patricia) Carney, Lynn (Robert) Mundy, Scott (Connie) Carney, Duane (Robin) Carney, Sean (Mauren) Carney, step son Stephen (Sara) Newman, 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Linda K Hubbell and Carolyn (Thomas) Cunningham. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Vaughn Carney. There will be a grave side service held 11:30am, Wednesday February 21st, 2018 at Philadelphia Memorial Park,124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer Pa 19355. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory can be made to The Children’s hospital of Philadelphia, St.Judes Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
