Irvine Brunt, 92, of Folsom, PA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 13, 2019 in his home surrounded by family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Irvine and the late Margaret (Laird) Brunt. He lived in Ridley Township for the past 68 years and was known by everyone simply as “Pete”. Irvine, or “Pete”, was an active and devoted member of Woodlyn Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and usher. He enjoyed painting, leatherwork, and crafts of all varieties. He was employed by ARCO and retired as a Foreman.
In his younger years, he was the mischievous kid who loved sports of all kinds. In the Navy, he was the guy who finally got his sea legs after he was discharged. At work, he was the no-nonsense guy with the Danny Kaye smile. In the neighborhood, he was known as the “Mayor of Villanova Avenue”. For many years at church, he was the “go-to guy” with an endless supply of life savers. To his family, he was an extremely devoted and faithful son, husband, dad, grandfather, and great grandfather; ever animated, always resolute.
Predeceased by his wife, Elsie Miriam Weiderhold Brunt. Survived by four sons: Kenneth (Beverly), Keith, Alan (Josie), and Randall (Kristi). Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday February 21, 2019 from 9-10:30 AM at Woodlyn Baptist Church (1125 Mac Dade Blvd Woodlyn, PA) followed by his funeral service at 10:30 AM.
