James Robert Dumont, Sr., 77 of Folcroft, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Born in Belfast, ME, he was the son of the late Mahlon Dumont and the late Violet May (Bickford) Dumont. Jim lived in Folcroft for the past 50 yrs. coming from Quantico, VA. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps for 10 yrs. Jim received the National Defense Service Medal. He was a rifle marksmanship instructor and was a ballistic expert at Quantico, VA and a veteran of the Korean War. Predeceased by his son Jim Dumont, Jr. Survived by his wife of 54 years: Dolores B. (Springfield) Dumont; his sons and their wives: Tim Dumont and Cindy (Adolf) Dumont, Craig Dumont and Erin (Coleman) Dumont; daughter-in-law Kristy (Walsh) Dumont; mother-in-law “Mom” Mary V. Springfield; and his 6 grandchildren James R. Dumont III, Katelyn Dumont, Kristina Dumont, Joshua S. Dumont, Morgan E. Dumont and Evan F. Dumont. Jim will also be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Saint George's Church, Lamont Ave., Glenolden.
