Joseph P. “ Doc” Dougherty, 64, of Media, PA, died Thursday January 23, 2014 in the Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland, PA.. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of the late Joseph P. Dougherty, Sr. and the late Rita (nee Joyce) Dougherty. Joe lived in Media for the past 44 years coming from Ridley Park. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a very active member of the F-4 Phantom II Society and a member of The Men of Media. Doc had a great personality and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. Survived by his sister: Jane E. ( Howard) Person of Grand Forks, ND, nephew, Steven Kuiper; niece, Nina Kuiper; 2 great nephews Tory and Joe,1 great niece Skylar, many cousins, several close friends and all of his friends at The Boat House.
