Julia A. “Judy” Rush (née Rehm), 74, of Holmes, PA, passed away June 9, 2013 in hospice. Born in NJ, Judy was the daughter of the late Paul E. and the late Rose Mary (née Twohig) Rehm. She was a resident of Holmes for the past 39 years, coming from Philadelphia. She graduated from St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls and Drexel University. Judy worked as a pharmaceutical research scientist for over 40 years at GlaxoSmithKline. She enjoyed being an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Morton, PA, where she served as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, participated in Bible study and prayer groups, and volunteered for H.O.P.E. She was also a member of the local Republican club. Judy was a Phillies fan, enjoyed Broadway musicals, and was very fond of going to new restaurants with friends and family. Judy loved the beach and being by the ocean. She vacationed yearly in the Wildwoods at the Jersey shore and always welcomed her siblings and their families to stay with her there. Even more than the ocean, she deeply valued family togetherness, having raised three of her siblings after their parents died very young. Judy was the matriarch of the family. Predeceased by her husband James P. Rush and her brother Paul E. Rehm, Jr. Survived by two brothers: John A. (Theresa) Rehm, George C. (Kathleen) Rehm; two sisters: Rosemary (James Doyle) Rehm, Paula Sykes; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews - all of whom love her dearly. Visitation Thursday from 9:30-10:45 AM with the Funeral Mass to be held at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin Avenue, Morton, PA. Burial Holy Cross, Yeadon.
