Peter Fizzano

1925-2016 Peter A. Fizzano, Sr., 90 of, Ridley Park, PA, passed away on Thursday August 04, 2016 in the Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park, PA. Born in Leiperville /Crum Lynne, PA, he was the son of the late Rocco and the late Philomena (Marzulla) Fizzani. He served during the Korean war in the Army Transportation Corps in Virginia from 1950 to 1952. Pete was a Forman with the Fizzano Brothers and the founder of Fizzano Trucking Company. Pete was an active member of the Woodlyn Baptist Church. Prior to that he was a Deacon, Treasurer, and member of the old Maran-Atha Tabernacle in Darby, PA. He was an Active Lifetime member of Vauclain Fire Co. from the age of 16 until his death, where he served over the years as Chief, President, Treasurer, and was deemed Chief Emeritus. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife during her time of illness, as well as a loving family man and a friend to all he met. He enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. He was a mentor, pillar in the community, a working servant, and an avid Phillies fan (sometimes)! Pre deceased by his wife Mildred (nee Hipkins) Fizzano and his son Peter A. Fizzano, Jr. Siblings: Rocky Fizzano, Nicky Fizzano, Marie Black and Marguerite Falco. Survived by his children: Judith Fizzano, Ronald (Jenny Marie Giordano) Fizzano and Gary (Tina Gallo) Fizzano 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and the endless amount of people who called him "Pop!" Funeral service will be held Friday August 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at Woodlyn Baptist Church, 1125 Mac Dade Blvd & School Lane, Woodlyn. Friends may call Friday from 9-11 am at Woodlyn Baptist Church. Interment: Lawncroft Cemetery, Linwood. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to Charity of donor's choice. Arrangements Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service, Glenolden, PA.
