Richard L. Jester, 79 of Woodlyn, died peacefully on Monday, December 20, 2016. He was the son of the late Richard and Louise (Nee Hammer) Jester. He was a member of Our Lady Of Peace Church in Milmont Park, and an active member of Sodality Devotions. Richard graduated from Swarthmore High School. He was an Air Force veteran and retired from General Accident Insurance Co. after 40 years of service. Richard, along with his wife Rose, enjoyed many activities at the Delaware Shore and followed all of the Philadelphia professional sports teams. Predeceased by his loving wife, Rose Jester (Cafra), and his sister Janet Williams, he is survived by two sisters, Linda Lyon and Dolores Hazlett-Mulhern, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am at our Lady of Peace Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 – 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church. Burial will follow Mass at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, Mass cards would be appreciated. Condolences and memories can be left on www.LyonsFS.com.
