Rodney J McKee Glenolden, Pennsylvania Obituary

Rodney J McKee

Rodney J. McKee, 44, of Ridgeway Avenue, Glenolden, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday March 09, 2020, while surrounded by his friends, family and close relatives. A lifelong resident of Glenolden, PA, and born in Darby, Pennsylvania, Rodney was the son of Patricia (McGonigal) Vazquez and the late John F. McKee, Sr. Rod graduated from Interboro High School in 1994. He worked in a variety of construction and specialty trades, as he had an affinity for the outdoors and working with his hands. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, out smarting and evading local law enforcement (regularly), perpetually rooting for the underdog, defending the honor of various random women who he perceived to be in need, picking fights he clearly could not win, and cheating and arguing over horseshoe points with his brothers. Rod also really loved animals, especially small, aggressive and annoying dogs….often playing the part of the “Pied Piper” of Ridgeway Ave on occasion with these little beasts as they multiplied in number over the years. Always the lover of good and healthy debate, his family often thought of him as a wanna-be political pundit for CNN and MSNBC. He also served as a part-time self-appointed spokesman for various human rights organizations. Rodney is survived by his mother Patricia (McGonigal) Vazquez, her husband Junior Vazquez, his siblings: John (Rachael) F. McKee, Jr., Brian J. McKee (Kristi), Nicholas M. (Meagan) Acquarola IV, Philip D. (Maria) Acquarola, Tiziana (Kevin) Bannan, 10 nieces and nephews, and a veritable truckload of aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be Monday March 16, 2020 from 6 - 8pm at Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service LTD, 202 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made Glenolden Youth Club, https://www.glenoldenyouthclub.org, P.O. Box 7 Glenolden, PA 19036. The Family will understand if you cannot attend due to recent events. Online condolences and memories may be placed on www.lyonsfs.com
