She was a devoted member of Christ's Church of Greensburg, where she served on the Altar Guild for many years, and also taught Sunday school. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Olive, Dorothy, Ivy, Algy, and infant brother, Lesley; a nephew, John V. Smith; and her beloved grandson, Lucas Paul Murphy. She is survived by sons, Paul (Linda) Murphy and Robert (Kathy) Murphy; grandchildren, Nathan (Nina) Murphy, Lindsay (Jeff) DuVal and Maura Murphy; great-grandchildren, Patrick and Mia Murphy and Mason and Parker DuVal; and a nephew, Patrick (Paula) Smith. The Murphy family wishes to thank the many compassionate employees of Nature Park Commons Senior Care Residence and ViaQuest Hospice and also a thank-you to Janet, who always made sure she got to church. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ's Church, 145 N. Main St., Greensburg, with Father Jeff Wylie presiding.
