Betty Schulte

Betty R. Schulte, 91, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017. She was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Pauline Smith Rosenberger. She was a member of St. Florian's Church, United. She and her husband operated Schulte Upholstering in Irwin for many years. She had been swimming instructor at the Braddock-Carnegie Club. She volunteered at the Homestead Library. She was a member of the Greensburg YMCA Masters Swim Team and for 35 years was aquatics director at the McKeesport YMCA. She also taught classes at the Greensburg YMCA. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Virgil E. Schulte, and a daughter, Diana E. Stiles; and two daughters-in-law, Helen Schulte and Barbara Schulte. She is survived by three sons, Vincent V. (Sheila) Schulte, of Bethel Park, Brian G. Schulte, of Irwin, and Mark (Maggie) Schulte, of New Stanton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Florian's Church, United. Everyone is asked to please meet at church. Interment will be at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
