Emma Hayden

Emma Hayden, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at Villa Angela, St. Anne Home. She was born April 8, 1922, in Claridge, a daughter of the late Matthew and Louise Gorshin Hravatic. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Demetro "Mit" Hayden; four brothers, Frank, Rudolph, Joseph and John; and four sisters, Rose, Mary, Angeline and Ann. She is survived by two sons, Gary (Linda) Hayden, of Greensburg, and Rudy (Peach) Hayden, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Michael (Sharon) Hayden, Dan (Karen Wightman) Hayden, Kristin (Mark) Sawinski and Ryan Hayden; and five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lauren, Keriann, Brianna and Tanner. Emma enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her family. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Anne Home for the kindness and compassion extended throughout her residency. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Clark Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greenburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Anne Home Memorial Fund, 685 Angela Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601; or to Laurel Faith in Action, P.O. Box 854, Latrobe, PA 15650.
