Geraldine Mahoney

Geraldine “Jeri” D. Mahoney, 72, of South Greensburg, died Thursday, February 23, 2017. She was born August 29, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Clifford and Eleanor Wynroski Mognet. Prior to retirement, she was a supervisor for Burlington Coat Factory. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, fishing, flea markets, crafts, and antiques. She also enjoyed her beloved pets. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers: Richard and William Mognet, and an infant twin sister, Angela Mognet. She is survived by her husband, Charles P. Mahoney; two daughters: Terri (Eugene, Jr.) Kowalewski, of Mt. Pleasant, and Tamie (Chuck) Elnyczky, of Greensburg; and three grandchildren: Eugene (Tiffany) Kowalewski, III, Zachary (Amy) Kowalewski, and Charles Patrick Elnyczky. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
