Helga Sigrun Honse, 87, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014. She was born July 8, 1926 in Iceland, a daughter of Erikur and Laretta Erikson. She was a member of Life Church of Greensburg. Helga was an avid crocheter, volunteered to care for the elderly, and made “cough pillows” for heart patients at Westmoreland Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William J. Honse; a son William R. Honse; and two brothers: Svienn Erikson and Guinburd Erikson. She is survived by three sons: Glenn E. (Robin) Honse of Ruffsdale, Donald R. Honse of Greensburg, and Charles R. (Ted Janka) Honse of Greensburg; two daughters: Nora E. (John) Zimmerman of Talbott, Tenn. and Loretta Lee (Robert) Zundel of New Alexandria; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; five step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ingi Erikson and Asti Erikson both of Iceland; and a sister Svana Lamb of Iowa.
