Henrietta C. Rutledge, 87, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016. She was born June 25, 1929, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Daniel Van Buren and Maud M. Moran Crowell. She was a member of Christ’s Church, Greensburg. Prior to retirement, she worked as a legal secretary. She loved animals and was an avid reader. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles C. “Skip” Rutledge; a sister, Ann Crowell; and a daughter-in-law, Amy McNeil Rutledge. Henrietta is survived by two sons: Charles C. Rutledge, Jr., of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Daniel T. Rutledge, and wife Susanna, of the Netherlands; a daughter, Amy C. Rutledge, of Greenbelt, Md.; a beloved grandson, Benjamin P. Rutledge; a brother, Daniel V. Crowell, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ’s Church, 145 N. Main St., Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ’s Church, the Greensburg-Hempfield Area Library, or the Westmoreland County Food Bank.
