John T. Russell, 78, of South Greensburg, died Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was born January 23, 1939, in Greensburg, son of the late John D. and Christina Patton Russell. He was employed as a supervisor of electronic materials for many years at Youngwood Electronics and Metals, Handy & Harman, and Acro Tool. John enjoyed his retirement for the last fourteen years working on his El Camino, golfing with his best friend, George, Lionel train collecting, and being a guiding force in his grandchildren’s lives. He was a man with an incredible work ethic, a great sense of humor, could fix anything, and walked several miles a day until the last few months of his life. He was kind and generous and always willing to help out when needed. He will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Jane Ann Thomas and Marion Perfors. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene Burrell Russell; two daughters: Jane E. Russell, CPA, of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Jeanine (Paul) Lardin, of Bovard; three grandchildren: Vincent John, Emily, and Madeline Semenko; three step-grandchildren: Kristyn, Devan, and Dillon Lardin; and a sister, Kathy Coffman, of Monroeville.
