Marian Salmon Obituary

Marian Sinwell Salmon, 93, of Greensburg, passed peacefully and went to be with her beloved family Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. She was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Larmer, a daughter of the late Matthew J. and Mary McNamara Sinwell. She was a member of St. Bruno's Church, South Greensburg. Marian was a retired secretary from the University of Pittsburgh in Oakland. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Marian was known for having great empathy for people and also for having a zest for life. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the following brothers and sisters, Margaret Marshall, William J. Sinwell, Anna Wallace, Paul R. Sinwell, Agnes Goodwin, Catherine Susin and Matthew M. Sinwell. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend and neighbor, Bill Mcglothlin. The family would like to thank the area agency on aging, the nurses and staff at Westmoreland Manor, the Plundo Associates and Excela Health Hospice for the excellent care given to our aunt. Also, special thanks to the many aides who took care of Marian at her home, including devoted aide and special friend, Leah Scott. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greensburg-Hempfield Area Library, 237 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg, PA 15601.
