Michael Borosky Obituary

Michael D. Borosky a.k.a. Reverend Father Hariton, 61, of Troy, Pa. died Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born July 4, 1951 in Welch, W.V. a son of John W. Borosky of Union, W.V. and the late Carolyn Neil Borosky. He graduated from Welch High School and attended WVU in Morgantown and Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, N.Y. Father Hariton was an Athonite Hiero Schema monk (Prienstmonk) who was considered one of the world’s top iconographers. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his grandparents: John and Lily Neil and Mitchell and Rosa Borosky. He is survived by four siblings: Jonna Kay “Katherine” Borosky of Carnegie, Pa., Jennifer B. Coleman and husband Dale of Scott Depot, W.V., Jo Ellen “Jodi” Tibbs and husband David of Staunton, Va., and John Wesley Borosky and wife Hillary of Waynesboro, Va. and five nieces and nephews. Panachida Service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Maximus the Confessor Orthodox Church, Owego, N.Y. A Funeral Service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow at St. Paisius Cemetery at the Sacred Hermitage of St. Paisius, Troy, Pa.
