Obituary
Robert Earl Lynch, 84, died Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was born November 24, 1928, in Natrona Heights, a son of the late Clifford Earl and Kathryn Lucille Lynch. Bob had been a member of the Air Force, teaching Radio Mechanics at Scott Air Force Base in Bellville, Ill., then used this training to become a foreman in the production of transistors. Employment with Westinghouse brought him and his family to Greensburg. He was a founding member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Ligonier Valley and; in his younger days, he was very active in the Boy Scouts, serving as a Troop Leader and being awarded membership in the coveted Order of the Arrow. His avocation was photographing nature, winning several awards for his unusual compositions discovered during his many hikes traversing the most challenging trails in America’s State and National parks. He then ventured overseas, lured by the natural wonders of Patagonia, Australia, the Antarctic and even by the ultimate experience of climbing Kilimanjaro in Africa. His final employment was in the field of nature serving Keystone State Park, Pine Springs Camp and Antiochian Village as both Park Naturalist and as Maintenance Person. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Lynch; their four children: son Richard Lynch and fiancé, Denise Persin; daughter Becky Walentosky and husband, Tom; daughter Terry Rankin and husband, Bob; and son John Lynch and wife, Bonnie. They have been blessed with ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be planned shortly. Please contact a family member for details
