Sara E. Hood, 88, of Latrobe, died Saturday, July 4, 2015. She was born June 3, 1927 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Morris J. and Rachel Brewer Griffin. She was a member of Life Springs Church, of Greensburg. She loved to play the piano and guitar and singing. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sons: Joseph C. Hood, III and Daniel J. Hood; four brothers: Fred Griffin, Kenneth Nye, Robert Nye, and Nathan Nye; and four sisters: Dorothy Trump, Jane Cope, Rachel Crouse, and Susan Watt. Sara is survived by four daughters: Linda Miller of Greensburg, Nancy Kovatch of Latrobe, Lois Kemerer (Bob Seaton) of Greensburg, and Kathie Hood, of Luxor; six grandchildren: Desirae, Jerry, Milo, Tony, Steve, and Maria Rose; four great-grandchildren: Natalie, Karley, Daunte, and Cameron; and many nieces and nephews.
