Shirley Ann Michno passed away on May 17, 2020, the same day her beloved grandmother, Mary Baran was born.
Shirley grew up in Manville, NJ, the daughter of Joseph & Helen Nagy & sister to Patricia. As a child she could be counted on to bring smiles & laughter. The family was very close & enjoyed road trips, family picnics with the aunts & uncles & lots of laughs. Her sister was her best friend & they had many adventures together.
At the age of 19, she married the love of her life, John Michno. Together John & Shirley had four children, Suzanne, Jill, Jennifer & Mark, giving Shirley her biggest wish in life... to be a mother. The family lived in Neshanic, NJ. Their home was always open to friends & family & many parties were held there. Family dinners usually ended with conversation & laughter long after the food was gone. As the kids were growing up Shirley was a loving mother who put everything into raising her children. She could be counted on to be class mom, to chaperone field trips, to be the cheerleading team advisor & more.
She was the fun Aunt, the life of the party, the thoughtful friend, the best friend to strangers, the grandmother who was so proud of her grandkids & loved to buy them presents. We will remember her smile, her love of fun, her generosity & friendliness.
She is survived by her husband, John Michno, her children, Suzanne Drake, Jill Lonergan, Jennifer O'Connor & Mark Michno, her 3 son in laws, Kevin Drake, Kevin Lonergan & Brian O’Connor, her 6 grandchildren, Maren & Braden Drake, Jake & Wade Lonergan & Mason & Reegan O’ Connor & her sister, Patricia Bondra & brother in law, George Bondra, in laws, MaryAnn Buckowski, Jeanette & Richard Pavan & many nieces & nephews.
She is predeceased by her father & mother, Joseph & Helen Nagy, her father & mother in law, Leon & Sally Mickno & her daughter in law, Kari Michno.
Due to Covid-19, funeral services will be private. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
