Donald Leonard Obituary

Donald F. Leonard, 70, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was born in Harrisburg on November 10, 1942, the son of the late Russell R. and Lydia E. Shaffner Leonard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Larry Leonard. Don is survived by his wife of 45 years Beverly Lutz Leonard; four children, Lori A. Leonard of Hummelstown, Tina Marie Cronen (Patrick) of Harrisburg, Gregory C. Leonard (Lori J.) of Myerstown, and Donald F. Leonard, Jr. (Chris) of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Daniel and Colin Cronen, and Landon and Jackson Leonard; and three siblings, Louise H. Stine of Lemoyne, Ronald E. Leonard (Carol) of Harrisburg, Russell R. Leonard, Jr. (Connie) of Palmyra. Don worked for the garment industry as a cutting room supervisor in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Most recently, he was employed by the Manada Golf Course. In addition to his family, Don’s greatest passions in life were bowling, golfing, and his toy/truck collection. He was also a member of the Shellsville VFW Post 9639. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Inurnment will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Saturday from 10 AM until time of the service.
