Lucille Houser

Lucille W. Fisher Houser, 83, of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017, in her home. Born in Lower Swatara Township on July 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John V. and Anna Mary Deimler Fisher. Lucille retired as a secretary from Snap On Tools; she also previously worked for Hill Top Grocery Store, and Delynn’s Delight. She was a 1952 graduate of the former Hummelstown High School. Lucille loved to play cards, do Sudoku puzzles, garden, bowl, swim and travel. However, her greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughters and great grandsons. Lucille was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ross Galen Witmer on December 24, 1967. She is survived by two sons, Roger A. Witmer husband of Cindy of Harrisburg and Jeffrey C. Witmer husband of Mary Lou of Middletown; two daughters, Debra G. Murphy of Palmyra and Carole J. Frost wife of Scott of Livermore, CA; four siblings, LeRoy R. Fisher husband of Betty of Hummelstown, Ralph G. Fisher husband of Arlene of Hummelstown, Donald H. Fisher of Wellsville, and Belva F. Sheaffer wife of Donald of Derry Township; six grandchildren, Alyssa Rhoads, Andrea Murphy, Heather Murphy, Jamie Witmer, Tracy Witmer, and Amanda Frost; three great grandsons, Raymond Morris, Gavin Morris, and Damien Murphy. Funeral service will be held Monday, September 18, 2017, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. John A. Schaefer, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Hummelstown, officiating. Interment will be in the Chambers Hill Cemetery. Viewings will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, September 17, 2017, from 6 to 8 PM and again on Monday from 10 AM until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, to help offset the funeral expenses.
