Marie Daunton

Marie S. Pollack Daunton, 94, of Palmyra and formerly of Warren, NJ, and Hendersonville, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in Columbia Cottage, Palmyra. Born in Bayonne, NJ, on September 7, 1922, she was the daughter of Julius and Mary Tverdak Pollack. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a professional artist and antique dealer; an expert in American Art pottery. Throughout the years, Marie was also a real estate agent, but her passion lay in the arts. She was a graduate of Bound Brook High School in New Jersey. Not only was Marie an accomplished artist, but a veracious reader and dog lover to the extreme. She was a longtime supporter of the Hershey Library and the Humane Society. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Thomas A. Daunton, on July 9, 1989; and her siblings. Marie is survived by two sons, Thomas D. Daunton (Judi) of Hummelstown, and David Daunton (wife, Charlene) of Bethlehem; two grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Segall (husband, Daniel) of San Mateo, CA, and Jason R. Daunton (wife, Mary) of Alpha, NJ; five great grandchildren, Riley, Bridget, Brock, Ellie and Ronan Daunton; and several nieces and nephews, Barbara Garren, Gerri Kochan, Gail Verini, Rosemarie Latino, Wes Howe, and Clarice Howe-Johnson. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11 AM in St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 West Areba Avenue, Hershey. Inurnment will immediately follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.
