Michael McKissick Obituary

Michael J. McKissick, 68, of Middletown and formerly of Hummelstown, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, August 23, 2017, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Harrisburg on March 22, 1949, he was the son of the late John K. and Phyllis Sites McKissick. Mike retired as a truck driver from Preston Trucking, and continued working for Arnold Logistics for several years. He was a 1967 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Mike was a member of the American Legion Post 265, Hummelstown; the Rescue Club, VFW Post 1620, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 410, all in Middletown; the Middletown Anglers & Hunters Association; and the NRA. He was also a member of Brownstone Lodge #666, F&AM, Hershey. Mike loved motorcycles and Hot Rods, and going to car shows, but his greatest passion was beginning each day with his Starbucks coffee. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Mike is survived by his wife, together for 38 years, Theresa A. Kovach McKissick, whom he married on July 13, 2015; a daughter, Christine M. K. Crumlich wife of Justin M. of Middletown; a sister, Marnette C. Tyler of Susquehanna Township; a sister-in-law, Patricia Sprandel of Middletown; several cousins; and his beloved rescue dogs, Napolean, Leroy, and Oscar, and his rescue cats. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Jason R. Mackey, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hummelstown, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Hummelstown Cemetery. Viewings will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of the service. Masonic services will be held on Tuesday evening in the funeral home at 5:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 1620, 200 Pike Street, Middletown, PA 17057.
