Ethel Mae Heisey

Ethel Mae Deimler Heisey, 90, of Lebanon Valley Home, Annville, and formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020, in the home. Born in Hoernerstown on August 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Truman E. and Pauline A. Smith Deimler. Ethel loved working at Hershey’s Chocolate World, and had previously worked at the former Press Dress Factory and Gladstone Candy Company both of Hershey. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of Balsbaugh United Christian Church, Hershey, and the Union Deposit Prayer Group. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Elias Heisey, on February 2, 2004; a great grandson, Austin Putt; five brothers, Truman D. Deimler, Harold W. Deimler, Lester E. Deimler, Earl W. Deimler and Melvin E. Deimler; and three sisters, Mary E. Zinn, Violet V. Moore, and Kathryn P. Eshleman. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Hahn (Bob) of Annville, and Shirley Klawitter of Hershey; two sons, Richard Heisey (Darlene) of Mt. Pleasant Mills, and Harvey J. Heisey of Hummelstown; one brother, George D. Deimler; six sisters, Thelma M. Bell, Grace E. Willeford, Betty A. Gruber, Joyce A. Logan, Wilma J. Popp and Linda D. Umbrell; seven grandchildren, Joann Straub (Kevin), Tammie Finsterbush, Kevin Klawitter (Beth), Tina Putt (Nate), Taylor Heisey (Amanda), Lyndsie Nolen (Ed), and Nikki Heisey; and eleven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 3 PM in Balsbaugh United Christian Church, 14 East Governor Road, Hershey, with The Rev. LeRoy Bomgardner and Pastor Marlin J. Swope officiating. Inurnment will be in the Broadview Cemetery, Hershey. Visitation will be in the church from 1PM until the time of the service. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to AseraCare Hospice, 280 Granite Run Drive, Suite 180, Lancaster, PA 17601; or to the Lebanon Valley Home, 550 East Main Street, Annville, PA 17003.
