Obituary
JoAnn Wolf Graden, 78, of the Middletown Home, and formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019, in the home.
Born in Harrisburg on February 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mildred Wilbern Wolf.
JoAnn retired as a Chief Personnel Assistant for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry where she was the recipient of the “People Who Care Award”. She was a 1959 graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School. JoAnn was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. She volunteered as a Harrisburg Senators Information Aide; and was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Hummelstown Woman’s Club, the Antique Automobile Club of America and its Hershey and Gettysburg Regional Chapters, and the Pittsburgh Pirates Booster Club. She enjoyed painting, crafting, gardening and antiquing.
JoAnn is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Roy M. Graden, Jr., whom she married on June 9, 1962; one son, Ty M. Graden husband of Tania of Hummelstown; and two grandsons, Thomas and Matthew.
In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Graden on January 23, 2012; and a brother Lester Wolf, Jr.
A Prayer Service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019, at 2:00 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Fr. Edward J. Keating, as officiant. A private inurnment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Township. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Saturday in the funeral home from 1:00 PM until time of the service.
