Joanna M. Brooker, 81, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019, in The Middletown Home with her family by her side. Born in Hummelstown on December 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Anna M. Hair Rhan. Joanna retired from the Molding Department of the H. B. Reese Candy Company. She was a member of the Northeastern International Harley Davidson Dressers & Touring Association, Woodmen of the World Lodge #364, Hershey, and Exchange Parents. Joanna enjoyed volunteering with the Children’s Miracle Network and the United Way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Brooker, on December 1, 2009; four brothers, Allen Junior, Charles E., John J. and George F.; and two sisters, Evelyn M. Mack and Murial A. Perkins. Joanna is survived by; one son, Kenneth L. Brooker, Jr. of Camp Hill; two daughters, Colleen M. Staub wife of the late Ronald of Steelton, and Ann T. Miller wife of Melvin of Middletown; one brother, Ronald E. Rhan of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Kenneth L. Brooker III husband of Erin, Heather J. Staub, Michele C. Haydo wife of William, and Ami J. Powell, and Jason A. Staub; and eight great grandchildren, Janna L. Staub, Emily E. Rivera, Kristopher L. Brooker, Samantha G. Brooker, Alexis N. Powell, Cooper J. Powell, MacKenzi G. Powell, Trinity S. Piper and Liam E. Haydo. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with Pastor Shawn Weir officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. A viewing will be held Thursday in the funeral home from 10 AM until time of the service.
