William F. Schweigler Obituary

William F. Schweigler, 70, of Steelton, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019, at his home.
Born in Hackensack, NJ, on September 14, 1948, he was the son of the late George T. and Florence M. Kammerer Schweigler.
A true Patriot, Bill retired after 20 years of service from the U. S. Marine Corps having served as a Retrieval Specialist during the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Bergen County Technical School, Hackensack, NJ, and attended the University of Phoenix. Bill was a member of New Thing–a United Methodist Community, Oberlin. He was instrumental in organizing the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Marine Corps League Honor Guard; and was a proud member of the Bob Smith Detachment #784 Marine Corps League, Hummelstown, and the Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter #542, Harrisburg. Bill loved to cook.
He is survived by his wife, Andrea J. “A. J.” Schaeffer Schweigler; one daughter, Tammy M. Bricker husband of Dave of Palmyra; two sons, David T. Schweigler husband of Angela of Cordova, TN, and Michael W. Schweigler husband of Brittany of York; six grandchildren, Eden Wilson wife of Joe of Texas, Christopher Schweigler of Tennessee, Clint Bricker of Palmyra, and Liam Schweigler, Lillian Schweigler and Logan Schweigler all of York; and one sister, Diane Schlop wife of Howard of South Carolina.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 11 AM in the Neidig Memorial United Methodist Church, 1251 Highland Street, Harrisburg, with The Rev. JoAnn M. Darrow, his pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
