Bonnie Jill (Griffith) Conners, 81, of Indiana, died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove, Harrisville. She was born June 29, 1936 to Forrest Dale Griffith and Elizabeth A. (Otto) Griffith. On August 25, 1956, she married George F. Conners and together they enjoyed 44 years of marriage and raised four children up until his death on June 6, 2001. She graduated from the Laura Lamar High School of Homer City and later went on to become a secretary for the U.S. Government during the years her husband was in the Marine Corps. The family was in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. She last worked as a secretary for the Indiana School District for fifteen years. Jill was a volunteer at the V.F.W. Post 1989 of Indiana where she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Also, a former volunteer at the Indiana County Historical Society and the Indiana Library. Jill was an avid reader. She enjoyed vacationing at the Outer Banks and playing golf. She was a member of the Homer City United Methodist Church. She is survived by her four children: Mary Coleen Conners, TX; Lisa Ann Empfield & husband Darhl, Jr., Apollo; Christopher Dale Conners, TX; and Craig Michael Conners, Indiana. Also, the following grandchildren: Jessica Barry; Jennifer Schneider; Mattie Geiselhart; Abbey Truninger; Hannah Empfield; Robert Conners; C.J Conners; and Jackie Conners. Great Grandchildren: Taylor Anne Barry; Meadow Barry; Caroline Barry; Nora Geiselhart; and Ivy Geiselhart. Siblings: Jack Griffith, FL; and Terry Griffith, Indiana. Jill was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter, Amanda Conners who died in 2001. Friends will be received Thursday September 28th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. A funeral service will be held the following day at the Homer City Methodist Church, at 11AM. Rev. Katrina Laude will be officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
