Michael P. Wattay, 76, of Irwin, Hempfield Twp. died Monday February 4, 2019 in the William Penn Care Center, Jeannette. He was born July 11, 1942 in Pittsburgh to the late Michael and Mary (Jakub) Wattay. Prior to his retirement he was employed as an auto technician for Kenny Ross Chevy. He was a member of the St. Agnes Church, in North Huntingdon. He was a Vietnam veteran proudly serving in the Navy. Michael loved to read and enjoyed gardening. Surviving is his wife of 37 years Irene (Howell) Wattay. Friends will be received Friday 3 to 7 p.m. at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania avenue Irwin. Parting prayers will be held 9:20 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Mike's family wished to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at William Penn Care Center for the care they gave him.
