Helen M. Stanko KANE Helen M. Stanko, 93, formerly of James City, passed away Monday (September 11, 2017) in the Lutheran Home at Kane. Born March 11, 1924, in James City, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Gribik Stanko. Helen was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church. She received much enjoyment from spending time with her family. Surviving are a brother, Stephen Stanko of Kane; a sister, Anna Chubon of Smethport; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Stanko; and a sister Mary Ann Rossman. Friends will be Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the gathering space at St. Callistus Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow with the Rev. William O'Brien, pastor, as celebrant.
