Lois Hower

Lois E. Hower, 95, of Lewistown, passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 14, 2020 at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home. Born June 23, 1924 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Rosa (Bailor) Arentz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne C. Hower, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Lois is survived by her children, Barbara Ehrenzeller, and husband Chet, of Virginia, Rebecca Hower, of Palmyra, and Wayne C. Hower, II and wife Kim, of Lewistown, and 9 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and a very special niece, Shirley Tate, of Lewistown. Lois was employed at Abie Walker’s Chief Logan Trading Post as a Clerk. She was a member of Parkview Church of the Brethren, where she was very involved in Adult Sunday School Class, The Golden Age Club, and The Pensioner’s Club. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and making quilts. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lois’ memory are respectfully encouraged to: Parkview Church Of The Brethren, 990 Parcheytown Rd, Lewistown PA 17044.
