Dorothy Sweetwood

Dorothy M. Sweetwood, 78, of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Susque View Home. She was born in Jersey Shore on July 11, 1936, the daughter of the late Melvin Wright Michaels and Eleanor Moyer Embick. On December 23, 1989 in Mill Hall, she married Paul R. Sweetwood, who preceded her in death on October 17, 2012. Dorothy was employed at the Flagstone Bar in Jersey Shore for 17 years. She then worked at both the Avis and Lock Haven American Legion until 1992 when she moved to Monroe, N.C. Dorothy enjoyed playing bingo. She also loved spending time with her husband, Paul, who she deeply missed since his passing. She is survived by four sons, Roger (Dawn) Strouse of Mill Hall, Larry Strouse of and Tim (Gwen) Strouse, both of Lock Haven and Randy Strouse of New Hampshire; two daughters, Nancy (Daniel) Walker of Colorado and Sherrie Rossman of Altoona; two step-daughters, Rhonda Schultz of Castanea and Tracey Rickard of Lock Haven; and 17 grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Daniel L. Strouse, who passed on May 13, 1959. A memorial service for Dorothy will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Clinton County SPCA in care of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745.
