Geraldine Summers

Geraldine V. Summers, 91, of Lock Haven passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at Susque View Home. Born on November 4, 1925 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Genevieve Marasco Ferrara. Geraldine attended St. Agnes Grade School. In 1946 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, she married the love of her life, Lewis L. Summers, Sr., with whom she celebrated 71 years of marriage. Geraldine was employed by the former Penn Woven Wire Mill and then the former Sylvania Plant for nearly 20 years. She then earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse, working at the former Casilio’s Nursing Home for 13 years and then as a Private Duty Nurse for an additional 13 years. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish, St. Agnes Catholic Church. Geraldine was also a member of both the Alpine Star Lodge #1827 and the Sons of Italy. She enjoyed cooking and crossword puzzles. In addition to her husband, Lewis L. Summers, Sr. of Lock Haven, she is survived by her son, Lewis L. (Sandra) Summers, Jr. of Lock Haven; three grandchildren: Lewis L. Summers, III, Laura McKenna, and Robert Summers; and three great grandchildren: Kathleen Summers, Ben McKenna, and Liam McKenna. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Summers; seven brothers; and seven sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Memorial contributions in Geraldine’s name may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church through the funeral home.
