Gilda Wise Obituary

Gilda M. “Gee” DeVivo Wise of Lock Haven passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Lock Haven Hospital. Born in Rural Valley, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Antoinette Benicasco DeVivo. She was the widow of John W. Wise who passed away on June 23, 1969. Gee was employed by Piper Aircraft, Sylvania, and Lock Haven University, retiring in 1990. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Agnes Catholic Church, where she served as an usher. Gee was a member of the Senior Center. She like gardening, reading, traveling, and especially enjoyed her time spent with family. Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Sun Y. Wise of Mechanicsburg; her grandson, Gino K. Wise of Mechanicsburg; her sister, Jennie Luchini of Kersey; her companion, Robert Deem of Lock Haven; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Joe, Andy, Ralph, and Angelo DeVivo and two sisters, Edie Shelley and Rose DeAngelis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven with Rev. Father Donald Dusza officiating. Burial will follow at Dunnstown Cemetery. Friends and family will be received at the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven on Friday, June 16 from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, June 17 from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church.
