Annetta McCullough

Annetta L. McCullough, 92, of Houston, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a brief illness. She was born September 18, 1912, in Cecil Township, a daughter of William Vance and Rachel Emerick Carter. Mrs. McCullough was raised in the Avella area and graduated from Avella High School. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Houston and its Sunshine Class. On February 21, 1934, she married Wayne N. (Mac) McCullough, who died January 16, 1986. She and her husband lived in the Canonsburg/Houston areas for most of their married life. Since October 1999, she resided at Presbyterian Senior Care Center, Washington. Surviving are three sons, W. Nelson McCullough and wife Sylvia, Dennis P. McCullough and wife Judy of Houston and Gary L. McCullough and wife Kathy of Spartanburg, S.C.; six grandchildren, Robert M. McCullough of Cranberry Township, David W. McCullough of Owasso, Okla., Tim McCullough of Houston, Thomas (Sonny) McCullough of Albany, Ohio, Megan Kobal of Charlotte, N.C., and Kristen Ambrose of Simpsonville, S.C.; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. McCullough was the last member of her family. Deceased are three brothers, Joseph, Brady and Everett Carter; and five sisters, Blanche Mayfield, Hazel Cooke, Betty Kraeer, May McCombs and Alice Bell. Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 23, with the Rev. Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, PA.
