Barbara Christian Raffaele Age 76, of Peters Township, died peacefully on December 30, 2011 after a prolonged illness. Mrs. Raffaele received her bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She worked in marketing and in journalism. She also will be remembered for her work as a community volunteer with the League of Women Voters of Washington County and the Peters Township Garden Club. An avid gardener, she earned her master gardener's certificate through Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. She was a caring friend and will be missed by many. She was the Beloved Wife of Joseph Anthony Raffaele Jr.; Mother of Patricia (Mt. Lebanon), Christine (David) (Columbus, Ohio), and Elizabeth (Peters Township); Grandmother of Mackenzie and Giavanna; Sister of Marilyn Christian and Nancy (Christian) Costanzo.
