Theodore Wasik McMurray, Pennsylvania Obituary

Theodore Wasik

Age 97, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at home after a well fought battle with stomach cancer. Ted is survived by his three children, Theo (Tracey) Decker, Cindy Wasik and Kimberly Kelly, two grandchildren, Kyle Gerlufsen and Cameron Steele Kelly. Ted is a veteran of WWII, serving in the South Pacific and Japan as a combat medic. He grew up on the Southside of Pittsburgh, one of three children. As a child, he learned the art and trade of becoming a butcher from his father. He worked his way up through the meat department to management at Giant Eagle and eventually owned and operated three Giant Eagle’s supermarkets. His success in business and life can be attributed to attention to detail and a hard work ethic which he instilled that in his children and those around him. He is greatly missed. He used his attributes to achieve his main goal in life which was to provide for his family. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUER, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 15317, (724) 941-3211. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anne Church.
