William Francis Singleton Obituary

Age 83, passed suddenly on Friday, May 19, 2017. Husband, Father, Father-in-Law, Grandfather and Brother, he was born and raised in McKeesport and a longtime resident of Upper St. Clair and Mt. Lebanon. He graduated cum laude with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. For 35 years, he owned Dunn Corporation, a general construction company in Carnegie. Bill was an authentic and considerate man who was committed to his family, his business, his city, and his church. He was husband who shared with equality, a father and grandfather who taught with integrity, a builder who took no shortcuts, a Pittsburgher with a passion for Pirates, Penguins, Steelers and Pitt, and an everyman with an infectious laugh and love of people. Family was the most important and happy part of his life: enjoying tennis, skiing, paddle tennis, and golf with the children; happily taking trips everywhere with the kids in our motor home; and going to our Kiawah Island home where everyone played in the ocean waves. Bill passed the way he lived: by doing something for others. He is survived and loved by his wife, Lois; his children, Tammy Singleton-English and Todd Singleton; his grandchildren, Drew and Kristy English; his son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Jim English and Lisa Mascolo; his sister, Margy Armstrong; his brother-in-law, Jim Armstrong; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and appreciated in grace by the congregation of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS, 724-941-3211. Friends and Family are welcome at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 9-11 a.m. Burial by the family will be private. A Memorial Service will be held in Westminster Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at St. Clair Country Club for all. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund and Planned Parenthood of Pennsylvania. Online condolences may be offered at www.beinhauer.com.
