Lulu I. Daughenbaugh, 97, of Mifflintown, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Brookline Village in Mifflintown. Born on October 23, 1921 in Cocalamus, Juniata Co., she is a daughter of the late Ira and Mary (Stuck) Shelley. On June 30, 1940, she was married to Paul E. Daughenbaugh with whom she was blessed to share over 60 years of marriage before his passing on December 13, 2000. Surviving her are a daughter, Gloria D. Ammerman of Towsend, GA; a sister, Geraldine Leach of Mifflin; a sister in law, Fay Shelley of McAlisterville; several grandchildren and great children; and several nieces and nephews including special caregiving nieces and nephews: Mary Ann Lukens, Paula Fay Witmer, Inez McClure, Marilyn Strawser, Gary Leach. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nila D. Geiger; a son, John Daughenbaugh; eight sisters and one brother. Mrs. Daughenbaugh was a member and attended the Niemond’s Independent Church in Richfield and was also an associate member of Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church in Shellman Bluff, GA. As a Godly woman who was strong in faith and demeanor, Lulu was a fantastic seamstress especially working with leather and suede. After retirement, she also enjoyed riding motorcycles with her late husband. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Ron Berrus officiating. Interment will follow at Niemond’s Cemetery, Richfield A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
