Wilma E. Heaps, 94, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, and formerly of Mifflintown went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:38 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the village surrounded by her family. Born on May 13, 1920, in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County she was the daughter of the late Ira and Margaret (Snouffer) Dean. Her first husband, Russell Kinsloe and her second husband, Darwin “Bucky” Heaps preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, Gloria Swailes and her husband, Warren, Marilyn Schroeder, Roberta Keiser and her husband, Herb, Russalee Yorks and her husband, Blair, Sr., David Kinsloe and his wife, Linda, all of Mifflintown, Wilma Weiand and her husband, Ron, Dean Kinsloe and his wife, Kristine, all of Port Royal, Sonja Arentz of Mifflin, a sister, Wauneta Powell and her husband, Fred, of Mifflintown, 31 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 45 great-great-grandchildren. Three grandchildren, Timothy Swailes, Ronald Swailes, Helen Swailes, three son-in-laws, Thomas Miller, Kenneth Schroeder, Charles Arentz, Sr., and a sister, Miriam Emery all preceded her in death. Mrs. Heaps was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church, Mifflintown and she retired from Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., Mifflintown. Wilma enjoyed painting, bingo, traveling, camping and fishing; however her greatest enjoyment came from the company of family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from the New Life Assembly of God Church, 1578 Cedar Springs Road, Mifflintown, with Pastor Alan Reiman officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal. Viewing will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the New Life Assembly of God Church, Mifflintown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. For those that wish, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Heaps’ memory, to her church, New Life Assembly of God Church, 1578 Cedar Springs Road, Mifflintown PA 17059.
