Barbara Ann Rickwood, 67, of Washington DC, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. She was born in Bellefonte on August 8, 1951, the daughter of the late Henry George Fiehler and Ella Mae Weaver. Barbara is survived by her sisters, Connie Spencer of Tuscon, AZ, Gail Catalano of State College; her brother, Melvin Fiehler of Turnersville, NJ; her nieces and nephews as well as 3 godchildren. Prior to her retirement in 2013, Barbara worked at the World Bank in Organizational Development. Barbara worked and lived in England in the mid 1980's through the mid 1990's. She was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Social Welfare and the American University with a Masters Degree in Organizational Development. Barbara was known to be very strong, compassionate, and generous person. She spent most of her life traveling the world. Her travels began as a Rotary International Scholar in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan during her senior year of high school. She continued her travels abroad as a Pan American World Airlines flight attendant. She lived abroad in England for 10 years (working at the Fujitsu/International Computers, Ltd and Test Select) and then continued her travels while working at the World Bank in Washington, DC. Her favorite trips were eating her way through Italy. There will be a private family graveside memorial service at Advent Cemetery in Yarnell, Pa. on August 3, 2019. Friends in Washington, DC will hold a celebration of Barbara's life in mid-August.
