Brian E. Akins, 50, of Shenango Township passed away the evening of July 13, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Born on January 20, 1970 in Buffalo, New York he is the son of Melvin Akins, Sr. who survives and the late Barbara Johns Akins.

Brian worked as a laborer.

Brian loved the outdoors going fishing and camping. He enjoyed playing video games. Brian’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.

In addition to his father, Brian is survived by his brothers, Melvin, Kenny, Steve (Amy) , Scotty, Donny (Erika) and Mark (Autumn) Akins and Timmy Hensel, and his sisters, Brenda Akins and Vickie (William) Helmuth and sixteen nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Hensel.

Visitation will be on Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.

Visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC guide lines regarding the wearing of face masks and using social distancing.

A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Joe Zingaro will officiate.

Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
