<p>Nick A. Russo, Jr., 92, of Shenango Township passed away the afternoon of December 2, 2019 at Quality Life Services of New Castle.</p><p><br></p><p>Born on May 12, 1927 in New Castle he was the son of the late Nicola Russo, Sr. and Christina Cenname Russo.</p><p><br></p><p>Nick married his beloved wife the former Jennie Morgan who after fifty-eight years of marriage preceded him in death on June 8, 2007.</p><p><br></p><p>Nick had worked for over thirty years as a Conductor and Brakeman for B&amp;O Railroad before he retired.</p><p><br></p><p>Nick was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Joseph the Worker Site.</p><p><br></p><p>Nick had served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II.</p><p><br></p><p>He was an avid golfer. He enjoyed hunting and bowling and attending all of the New Castle basketball games.</p><p><br></p><p>Nick is survived by his sons, John A. Russo and his wife Francine, Randy N. Russo and his fiancé, Ann Campbell all of New Castle, Robin Russo and his wife Kathy of York, Pa., his brother, Ralph Russo and sister, Genevieve DeStefano both of New Castle, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents and wife, Nick was preceded in death by his brothers, Andy &amp; Amelio Russo, two infant sisters and his grandson, Matthew Russo.</p><p><br></p><p>Honoring his wishes there is no visitation. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Joseph the Worker Site. Father Joseph McCaffrey will officiate. </p><p><br></p><p>Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery where the New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15224.</p><p><br></p><p> Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, 941 South Mill St.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
